VRH Seventh Heaven arrived to our new facilities today and I introduced her to my new black Hano mare Sienna. The introduction went well and looked like they bonded immediately!
They even started goofing around and playing with each other...
At the same evening I went to look at the mares again since my husband said I really should take a look on Heaven and this is what I saw...

She was limping her left front leg and couldn't even use that leg properly. It seems he hit her leg to a fence or something, when playing with Sienna. Luckily I've just (finally) finished my equine vet degree and I'm now qualified as a vet and our clinic was just finished as well so I took her to the clinic right away. She was super spooked when I got her through the clinic doors and I couldn't get her to move forward. My hubby got an idea to get Sienna to the clinic stall while looking at Heaven's leg and that worked like magic! Heaven was really calm when her new best buddy was closeby. |
I took a look at her leg and she has a tendon injury... meaning her showing career is over, at least for a big while. Poor mare...
Depending how her injury develops, I might take this as a opportunity to breed her. I wasn't going to do that until after her showing days were over but since she can't be even ridden in a while I might just as well breed her to Don Allegro.
